Hello! My name Laura Perrine, and I am a recently graduated Secondary English Language Arts teacher. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Language, Literature and Writing with a minor in Children’s Literature, from Eastern Michigan University. After I graduated in 2019, I pursued my Master of Arts in Teaching-Secondary English degree from Eastern Michigan University. This degree was completed December 2021, after a semester long Student Teaching Internship completed in a 7th grade ELA classroom.

I have always dreamed of being a teacher since I was a child, and would pretend to teach my stuffed animals and my little brother in our living room growing up. I always enjoyed pretending what I could teach to my students, how I could teach, and how I could make learning fun for all!

My passion for ELA stems from my love of reading, writing, and analyzing literature. I have always been an avid reader and creative writer, and through teaching, I can use my love of reading and writing to help students discover their own power through communication and expression of their thoughts.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and reviewing books, specifically Young Adult literature. Some of my book reviews I will share in the “Blog” portion of this website. I also enjoy writing, and I’m an aspiring author with the hopes to write my own novel and/or short story collection one day in the (hopefully) near future.

I love to go on nature walks and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors with my fiancé and two lovable dogs.
